We have re-opened the Blaze Apprenticeship Scheme and want to find 10 new entrants who want to go on a 2-year journey to become highly skilled sign makers, trained to a high standard.
Be aware this is no normal job. Sign making is both intricate and large – often at the same time – and you need to use your head as much as your hands. It’s also a very active role. You will be on your feet all day as you learn a rich variety of technical skills. From fabrication through to welding, letter making, forming plastics, sign construction and becoming an electrical wizard, the skills you will learn will be invaluable. And it can be outdoors too, sometimes at height. No problem of course if you enjoy good weather (and don’t mid when it’s not so good) and you don’t feel giddy at the top of a ladder.
Ideally you will possess GCSEs in Maths and English, and as you will be part of a team you need to be comfortable communicating clearly with others. Being positive, wanting to learn and determined to never be late are always really important factors too. What do you get when you join the Blaze Apprenticeship Scheme? In the immediate term we pay £192.40 for a 40-hour week. But looking ahead, we help you to reach Level 3 Signage Technician apprenticeship standard – that’s equivalent to ‘A’ Level. And when you complete the programme, you have the chance to work with some of the very best sign-makers in the UK, and work on some of the best-known brands as well.
