Comic Relief supports incredible projects and organisations who are making a difference for people across the UK and around the world.
The Blaze Signs and Cygnia Maintenance teams from Hexcite worked together to raise money in aid of the now annual event, Comic Relief! The event was held on Friday the 17th of March, but preparations were well underway long before the big day arrived, with many of the team members showing off their baking skills with irresistible cakes, cupcakes and other sweet treats that invited us to aid the charitable cause.
The three separate facilities of Blaze Signs and Cygnia Maintenance in Broadstairs, and Blaze Signs in Birmingham were up for the challenge, each with their own “bake sale” and donation points for the members of the team in these areas.
Our star bakers did not disappoint, and the variety and options were staggering, is was a truly incredible effort from each and every baker who supplied the sweet treats! By the end of the day, nearly all the stock was sold and the people of Blaze and Cygnia had been generous in their offerings. Across the three sites, we raised £360.40 in a matter of hours, a fantastic result!
The money raised will help support people struggling with the cost-of-living crisis and tackle issues such as homelessness, mental health problems, and food poverty here in the UK and around the world. All year-round, the money donated to Comic Relief works hard to support some incredible projects making a change to people’s lives across the UK and around the world. In fact, over a two-year period, Comic Relief funding has helped to support 11.7 million people.
